FG Ballpoint Needles

Busy finishing up my longarming before my trip but had to give you all an update on MK's use of the FG Ballpoint Needles.
So I wanted to do a test between the
16 MR FFG BPs that I previously had some of left in my studio, and
the 16 FG BPs that I'm now selling.
I went back to the needle guide with pictures from Groz-Beckert and saw that the FFG is still considered ball point, but a bit "pointier".
FGs that I'm using now, available from HQ and that I'm reselling, have been working great for me and are considered ball point, but from the picture and description, more rounded.
My test today on a quilt I was working where I had long passes of wiggle ditching to do, I tried both needles and I can attest:
The FGs that I'm using now (size 16 w/Omni) definitely worked much better. So a more rounded tip reacted better for me when working right to left.
And there has been chatter about MR or not. These FG I'm using and selling are NOT MR needles which if you have Infinity, you know they originally told us, use only MR.
But let me reiterate. HQ and even some of the educators say they work fine in their Infinity, they work fine in my Infinity, and remember, MK is almost 100% PS. Which means my machine NEVER approaches the top speed of Infinity. Soooooooooooooo
I have happily changed to using exclusively FG (16 and 18) Ball Point Needles in my studio and loving them.
As for the not leaving holes in the fabric as Kelly Cline suggested, I did have to unstitch a portion of a border this week and although the holes were less noticeable, they were still there. A little spritz with water and a bit of finger rub and they mostly disappeared.
Lastly, I know Kelly uses Schmetz BP needles so I'm sure they are similar to but not exactly the same as Groz-Beckert when it comes to the roundness of the ball point tip. I swear, one needs higher education to know all about these needles.
Boiled down . . . . MK is all over Groz-Beckert, FG (both 16s and 18) Non-titanium coated, non-MR needles at MK Quilts.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Oh, and I did mention they're for sale on my website, right? ;)
Happy Quilting all.
MK :)
