Melissa “MK” will teach a 3-hour certification class and then rent time in 3-hour blocks.
Features include a hydraulic adjustable table and use of laser guided paper panto-graphs. As well as zipper leaders and special instruction.

3 Hour Certification Class Required
$100/person for the Cert. Class
Included with the class, all the pertinent instruction for proper operation of the machine and a set of 2 Fabric Zipper Tabs for the renter. These serve as your way to prep your backing ahead of your rental time so that you’re paying mostly for quilting time, not loading time.
Post Certification:
$25/hour for your time on the machine.
3 Hour Prepayment required to reserve your spot on the machine.
48 hour notification required if you must miss your appointment.
$50 no show fee will apply.

What to Bring to Rental Appointment.
- Your Quilt on a hanger or folded.
- Your Backing, pre-attached to your Zipper Tab Leaders.
Batting. MK Prefers you use high quality batting in your quilts.
MK sells Quilter’s Dream Batts at MK Quilts.
MK reserves the right to deny batting if it is deemed to be fusible or a quality that will detrimentally affect the longarm.
Batting may be purchased at time of appointment and will be sold to the renter at 10% off retail. - Comfortable Shoes
- 1 brand new Size 16 Ball Point Needle.
BP needles last a long time. There is not typically a need for a new needle for every quilt.
This needle will be placed in a binder with your name to be used at each of your appointments until such time as a new needle will need to be purchased. Current pricing: $1.00/needle
ONLY NEEDLES PROVIDED OR SOLD BY MK WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE LONGARM. - Your choice of any Superior Omni thread I have at MK Quilts. To be used in top and bottom.
Help in color selection will be offered if needed. - Side clamps for your backing so as to keep things taught each advance.
- Quilt leader for your quilt top. This leader is for use during your appointment. MK prefers the pinning method for your quilt top. This helps keep your quilt straight along the bottom edge.
If your project is not finished during your appointment time, help in basing-off your quilt will be provided. - Channel locks to assist you in marking straight horizontal and vertical lines which aid in keeping your quilt straight as you quilt.
- Use of the paper pantographs. These pre-printed, paper patterns are used in combination with the laser light attachment on the machine. Full instruction on their use is given during the certification class.
- An in-shop helper to assist you with proper machine operation and quilting through your entire process.
- Show your current, active, local quilt guild membership card and receive 10% off your rental time.
